The last words..

After doing this blog I realize that writing blog is not so easy especially for me who does not have good writing skill. I wonder why other people can create such a fascinating blog that really interesting to read. Maybe, they have that kind of skill of “story-telling”. As in the case of this blog which are about academic (IEM) and palm oil, I have to write something from theoretical matters that can be understood by lay people. It is challenging on how should the scholarly matters written in the daily language as it is important to get people’s attention.

Anyway, I also have some points that I can reflect on from doing this blog:
1.     There are lots of information about palm oil on the internet! They made me excited as well as confuse as I have to choose which facts and figures that I would post on my blog.
2.    Too long postings! It makes blog so boring and it will not attract people to read it.
3.    Blog name. I just realize that may be not many people see and comment on my blog just because they don’t know about this blog. Who am I in the world that people will type my name on goggle search to find something? That’s why I think blog name is also important to consider because it is the starting point for people to view your blog.
4.   Palm oil problem is so complicated! I understand that my analysis on palm oil problem may not give solution at all as the problem is too complex. However, as I gave my assessment from IEM perspective, it may give an option on how to start thinking this problem in a holistic way.
5.    IEM is too good to be true. IEM is a holistic approach that sounds perfect if it becomes real. What happen in the real world is not so simple as in theory, but  IEM is possible to be implemented in palm oil problem. However, it appears to me that even we have defined some barriers and pressure points that will likely to block IEM process, the uncertainties still play an important role on this problem. Anything can happen unpredictably even we have used many tools that adopt such a precautionary principle e.g. EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) and CBA (Cost-Benefit Analysis). Nevertheless, as knowledge, research, and development will still changing, at least we have determined what we think is the best we can do at the moment.

Finally, I do hope that this blog may be useful for people who read it. At least, doing this blog give me an experience of writing a blog that I’ve never done before.  The last words from me are:
